The Flight of The Arctic Fox tells the riveting story of the lives of thirty-one passengers and crew on board a BEA Vickers Viscount flying from London to Naples in October 1958. Following a mid-air collision with a jet fighter over Nettuno in Italy, everyone on board died, including the author’s brother, who was a member of the crew.

Rory O’Grady met the son of the Radio Officer in 2018 who had made it his mission to erect a permanent memorial in Italy. This led to a search for the bereaved families around the world, listening to their stories, and connecting many of the families for the first time.

This led to a gathering at the memorial stone in Nettuno on 22 October 2022 of over 47 family members who came from all over the world, including Australia, to commemorate the 64th Anniversary of the crash. The mayor, local dignitaries, townsfolk and the local media came from Nettuno, and the commander of the NATO Artillery base where the stone was situated. Many new friends were made that day.
